Set up the protocol template

Protocol templates act as reusable workflow definitions. They let you organize recurring analysis tasks, such as evaluating multiple assay runs, applying predefined combination logic, and generating consistent protocol documents. By setting up the protocol template, you create the structure that PLA 3.0 follows when it processes assay data.

This is the third step in setting up an automated bioassay workflow.

Before you begin

This task uses the Basic bioassay protocol document type of PLA 3.0. We recommend becoming familiar with this document type before setting up the assay template. For details, see the Basic bioassay protocol topic.

About this task

In this task, you set up the protocol template that links the assay and combination templates that you created in earlier steps and specifies how PLA 3.0 should use them together. The template ensures that the workflow uses the correct templates, applies the right calculations, and produces the documents you require for routine analysis.
