Use case: Automate a bioassay workflow
For some biological assays, determining relative potency within a single run is not sufficient. In these cases, you perform multiple individual assay runs and then combine the resulting data to obtain a more reliable final potency estimate. The challenge is to combine these individual results efficiently and reproducibly, particularly in regulated environments or when preparing for automated workflows.

Before you begin

You have created a protocol template.

About this task

As the final step before performing routine analysis, you link the assay and combination templates that you created in earlier steps to the protocol and define the number of documents the protocol should generate.

Note: You can run protocol documents in two modes. This use case uses the assay replicate mode that lets you define the number of replicates in the protocol, while all other assay-related settings are taken from the assay template.

Procedure

To configure the protocol template:

Expand the Mode: Assay replicate element.
As the Number of replicates, enter 3.
Expand the Templates > Assay templates > Assay template element.
As the Template, select the assay template you created.
Expand the Combination calculation templates > Configuration element.
As the Template, select the combination template you created.
Save the template.
