PLA 3.0 supports you in your daily work by providing a set of graphical and textual user interface elements. Learn about the different elements and how to use them efficiently.
Main window
When you log in to PLA 3.0, the main window opens, providing a set of basic items.
Menu bar
At the top of PLA 3.0 main window, the menu bar provides a series of sub-menus that you can use to access key features and functions of PLA 3.0, such as document and folder-related actions, database policies, and account management.
Validation
Use the Validation menu to perform actions related to Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

- Main window
  When you log in to PLA 3.0, the main window opens, providing a set of basic items.
  - Navigator
    The Navigator on the left side of the PLA 3.0 main window is your main tool for accessing and organizing your documents and folders.
  - Menu bar
    At the top of PLA 3.0 main window, the menu bar provides a series of sub-menus that you can use to access key features and functions of PLA 3.0, such as document and folder-related actions, database policies, and account management.
    - File
      Use the File menu to perform actions related to documents and folders, create reports, apply signatures, and export and import documents.
    - Edit
      Use the Edit menu when working with the content of your documents.
    - System
      Use the System menu to perform actions related to databases, user accounts, add-ons and directory services.
    - Validation
      Use the Validation menu to perform actions related to Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
    - Help
      Use the Help menu to access our Help Center, reset your user interface, or contact us in case of questions or feedback.
  - Toolbar
    Located below the menu bar, the toolbar of the PLA 3.0 main window provides a set of actions related to documents and folders.
- Document pane
  When you create a new or open an existing document, the document pane opens on the right side of the PLA 3.0 main window. This pane is your main area when working with documents.
- Dashboard
  Use the document dashboard on the right side of the PLA 3.0 main window to get an overview of your document data and view recent changes. In the case of biological assay documents, the dashboard shows document definitions and a graphical summary of calculation results.
- Content editor
  The Content editor is the main editor for all document types and opens by default when you open a document.
- Data editors
  Use data editors to enter observation data and set up assay layouts. Each editor has the same data but provides a different view on your data.
- Keyboard shortcuts
  Keyboard shortcuts are keys or combinations of keys. Use them as an alternative way to do something that you would typically do with a mouse.
- Tasks
  Learn how to configure your preferences, change your account details and password, and set up print profiles.

Data analysis
Data analysis add-ons offer a wide range of capabilities, ranging from analytical methods over comprehensive analysis to statistical process control. PLA 3.0 also provides a set of add-ons that support and supplement data analysis add-ons.
Data import
Use data acquisition and data import add-ons to import external response values and observation data into PLA 3.0 for further processing and evaluation.
Installation
Details on the deployment and installation of licensed PLA 3.0 versions.
Licensing
Details on the licensing solution of PLA 3.0, the available licensing options, and the activation and management of licenses.
Administration
Details on system administration tasks such as setup and maintenance of databases and add-ons, user accounts, access rights, and migration and update procedures.

Validation

Use the Validation menu to perform actions related to Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

	Installation Qualification (IQ)	Opens the Installation Qualification (IQ) dialog, where you can execute the IQ process to verify that the PLA 3.0 component files in your environment have not been tampered with.
	Operational Qualification (OQ)	Opens the Operational Qualification (OQ) dialog, where you can execute the OQ process to verify the correctness of mathematical calculations performed by PLA 3.0 at your workstation, using datasets verified by Stegmann Systems.
	Performance Qualification (PQ)	Opens the Performance Qualification (PQ) dialog, where you can execute the PQ process to verify the correctness of mathematical calculations performed by PLA 3.0 on the target systems, using datasets verified by you.
	Save as PQ Definition	Opens the Save PQ Definition dialog, where you can create a PQ definition document.
	Export PQ Definition	Opens the Export Performance Qualification Package dialog, where you can export PQ definition documents as a PQ package and use their datasets to verify the mathematical calculations at your workstation.
