Main window
When you log in to PLA 3.0, the main window opens, providing a set of basic items.

- Login dialog
  Use the Login dialog to select the database you want to work with and sign in. Refresh your information package, manage databases, perform an Installation Qualification, and find information on the PLA 3.0 system.
- Main window
  When you log in to PLA 3.0, the main window opens, providing a set of basic items.
  - Navigator
    The Navigator on the left side of the main window is your main tool for accessing and organizing your documents and folders.
  - Menu bar
    At the top of main window, the menu bar provides a series of sub-menus that you can use to access key features and functions of PLA 3.0, such as document and folder-related actions, database policies, and account management.
  - Toolbar
    Located below the menu bar, the toolbar of the PLA 3.0 main window provides a set of actions related to documents and folders.
- Document pane
  When you create a new or open an existing document, the document pane opens on the right side of the PLA 3.0 main window. This pane is your main area when working with documents.
- Document dashboard
  Use the document dashboard on the right side of the PLA 3.0 main window to get an overview of your document data and view recent changes. In the case of biological assay documents, the dashboard shows document definitions and a graphical summary of calculation results.
- Content editor
  The Content editor is the main editor for all document types and opens by default when you create a document.
- Data editors
  Use data editors to enter observation data and set up assay layouts. Each editor has the same data but provides a different view on your data.
- Keyboard shortcuts
  Keyboard shortcuts are keys or combinations of keys. Use them as an alternative way to do something that you would typically do with a mouse.
- Tasks
  Learn how to configure your preferences, change your account details and password, set up print profiles, and change the user interface language.

Licensing
The licensing solution of PLA 3.0, available licensing options, and the activation and management of licenses.

Main window

When you log in to PLA 3.0, the main window opens, providing a set of basic items.

The following items are available:

1	Menu bar and toolbar	At the top of main window, the menu bar provides a series of sub-menus that you can use to access key features and functions of PLA 3.0, such as document and folder-related actions, database policies, and account management. Below the menu bar, the toolbar displays a set of icons that you can use for quick access to commonly used tools or functions, such as document and folder-related actions and report creation.
2	Navigator	The Navigator on the left side of the main window is your main tool for accessing and organizing your documents and folders.
3	Status bar	At the bottom of the main window, the status bar displays details on the database you are working on, the PLA 3.0 version, your license, and serial number.
4	Home	At the right side of the main window, the Home tab shows a dashboard that keeps you informed about product news, learning resources, and conference updates. You also find details about your current database, Support Contract, and information package. When you create a new or open an existing document, the document pane opens next to the Home tab.
