2. Update the database scheme
Update your database to the PLA 3.0.7 scheme to make it available for PLA 3.0.7 installations.
Important:
The process is not reversible. After the update, only PLA 3.0.7 installations can access the updated database.
About this task
Database schemes define the structure of your database, that is, how data is organized, stored, and accessed. To apply changes to a specific database, you work with a connection profile, a saved configuration that tells PLA 3.0 how to connect to that database. By selecting a connection profile, you specify the target database for the scheme update. For details, see the Database connection profiles topic.
Note:
This task covers the update process for a local SQLite database. You
can update all PLA 3.0 databases in the same way.
Procedure
To update the database scheme:
- In the Login dialog, select Tools.
-
From the drop-down list box, select
Database management.
-
In the Manage database connection profiles dialog, select
the connection profile for the database you want to update.
You can identify databases requiring an update by their yellow status icon (
).
Tip:If the connection profile is not visible, you need to add the profile to the updated installation first. For details on the steps, see the Add database connections topic. - Select Repair.
-
To confirm the update, select Yes.
Results: The status of the connection profile changes to green (
).
- Select Connect and log in to PLA 3.0.
