Database connection profiles
Use database connection profiles to connect PLA 3.0 to databases. These profiles hold all properties required to connect to a database such as the path where the database is located, the user name, and the encrypted password to access the database.

The Manage database connection profiles dialog lists all currently set up database connections.

Profile management commands
Profile list
The profile list at the top of the dialog lists all available database connection profiles. For each profile, you see the name of the profile, its status, database schema, and the type of the linked database.
Database details
In the middle of the dialog, PLA 3.0 displays details of the database linked to the selected profile.
Profile management commands
Use the commands at the bottom of the dialog to manage your database connection profiles.
Command | Description |

Add… |
Opens the Database connection management wizard that you can use to add a connection profile for a database. For details, see the Add database connections topic. |
Edit… |
Lets you edit the parameters of the selected connection profile. If you moved a database, you also have to update the parameters
of the respective connection profile. Otherwise, the status of
the database is set to error ( |
Repair |
Repairs databases with the status incorrect ( A database could receive this status if you updated it to a higher PLA 3.0 version with a different database schema. Important: In contrast to the other tasks which affect
the respective database connection profile, the repair task
affects the database itself.

Remove |
Removes the selected connection profile. Note: The database itself is not deleted.

Export… |
Exports the selected connection profile to distribute it to other PLA 3.0 installations. For details, see the Export database connections topic. |
Connect |
Opens the Login dialog, pre-selected with the database linked to the selected connection profile. |
