Back up your file-based application data

About this task

File-based application data includes files that PLA 3.0 stores outside the database. These files define how PLA 3.0 interacts with your environment and installed components, namely properties files, database connection profiles, and the add-on repository.

Note:

This task assumes you are using the default file paths listed in the File paths topic. If you are unable to locate the files, contact your system administrator.

Procedure

To back up your file-based application data:

In your file system, navigate to the following folders and copy the contained files from there to a backup medium or to a folder that is backed up on a regular basis.

Properties files of your Data Acquisition Modules: %ProgramData%\Stegmann Systems\PLA 3.0
Database connection profiles: %ProgramData%\Stegmann Systems\PLA 3.0\DBConnections
Add-on repository: %ProgramData%\Stegmann Systems\PLA 3.0\addons

Note:

Instead of copying your database connection profiles, you can also export them to your backup medium. For details, see the Export database connections
