Step 1: Access directory server
Enter the settings required to establish a connection to the directory server.

PLA 3.0 only supports encrypted connections (SSL) to directory servers. Please make sure the server uses appropriate encryption. |
Port |
Enter the number of the port to be used. Example: 636 |

Select the directory type from the drop-down list. The following options are available.

Tip: Use the Active Directory
option if you use Microsoft Active Directory or Active
Directory Domain Services. In all other cases, use the
Generic option.

Search account section

Enter the ID of the user to be employed for the search account. Example:

PLA 3.0 needs the Search account to access information required for user authentication. We recommend employing a user account specifically designated for this purpose. |
Password |
Enter the password of the search account. |
Tip: For the search account, we recommend employing
a user account whose password does not expire.
