Licensing options

PLA 3.0 offers a flexible licensing model designed for both individual users and multi-user environments. The licensing option you select determines how many users can access PLA 3.0 at the same time. It also determines on how many computers you can install PLA 3.0.

Seat license

A seat license lets only one user access PLA 3.0 at a time. You can install PLA 3.0 on a single designated computer.

This option is best suited for:

  • Single users who need exclusive access.

  • Small teams where each user requires a dedicated license.

The following figure shows two seat license scenarios. On the left, a single-user setup requiring one license. On the right, a small environment setup requiring two licenses.

Concurrent use license

A concurrent use license enables several users to work simultaneously with PLA 3.0, up to the number of available user slots.

This option is best suited for:

  • Shared environments where users connect as needed.

  • Terminal server environments with centralized access.

The following figure shows two concurrent use license scenarios. At the top, a shared environment requiring a license with three user slots. At the bottom, a terminal server environment requiring a license with six user slots.
