Dataset columns

Use dataset columns to decide from which parameters PLA 3.0 can aggregate data.

About dataset columns

After setting up data aggregation filters to pick your source documents and sections, dataset columns let you decide which parameters to aggregate. When working with control charts, dataset columns also let you define how to plot the parameters in charts.

You can choose between the following data types:
  • Floating-point numbers for data values

  • Text for text

Set up dataset columns

To set up data columns, you use the Column: Floating point number and Column: Text data table nodes of the Content editor of your target document.

Use the Creatable elements pane to add the elements you require. For a detailed description of the available settings, see the Column: Floating point number and Column: Text topics.

Chart dataset columns

When working with control charts, you can use dataset columns to define how to plot the parameters. To do so, you link the dataset column to the data series of the chart you want to use to plot the parameter. For details on this setup, see the Chart elements topic.
