8. Import your add-ons into the add-on repository

Required for offline environment installations.

Setting up add-ons in an offline environment is a two-step process. Importing your add-ons into the add-on repository is the first step.

All users with write permission to the respective folder can manage the content of the add-on repository.

About this task

During the installation, PLA 3.0 creates the add-on repository, a folder to store the setup files of all your add-ons. The add-on repository lets administrators control which add-ons are available for activation.

For a detailed description of the add-on repository feature, see the Set up the add-on repository topic.

Procedure

To import add-ons into the repository:
  1. Log in to PLA 3.0.
  2. On the System menu, select Add-on management.
    Result: The Add-ons tab opens.
Note: The tab displays all add-ons available to you, sorted alphabetically by add-on name. Which add-ons are available depends on your information package.
  3. On the Add-ons tab, perform a right-click, and select Import add-ons to repository.
  4. Navigate to the folder where you saved the add-on setup files from the download.
  5. Select the *.edpao files of the add-ons you want to activate, and then select Open.
Tip: You can import all add-ons you want to activate in one step.

Result

The add-ons are added to the repository ().
