Create documents from scratch

Create a document from scratch, for example when setting up an experiment configuration.

Procedure

To create a document:
  1. In the Navigator, select the folder in which you want to create the document.
  2. From the context menu, select New.
Tip: This action is available in the top and the detail view of the Navigator.
  3. In the Create a new document dialog, on the Available document types tab, select the document type you want to create.
Tip: Double-click a folder to expand or collapse it.
Which document types are available depends on the add-ons available in your database. In the example below, we use the 'New Quantitative Response Assay <No Template>' document type to create a new Quantitative response assay.

  4. To confirm your selection, select Create.
Result: The Content editor opens, displaying your new document.

Note: For some document types, the name is automatically generated and cannot be changed.
  6. Save the document.
