Data analysis add-ons offer a wide range of capabilities, ranging from analytical methods over comprehensive analysis to statistical process control. PLA 3.0 also provides a set of add-ons that support and supplement data analysis add-ons.
- Biological Assay Package
  Use the Biological Assay Package for potency analysis of biological assays. The add-on comes equipped with a highly flexible test system to qualify your assay. You can perform combination calculations to obtain a reportable value from independent assay runs and use historic assay data to develop equivalence margins.
- Biological Assays Simulation Package
  Use the Biological Assays Simulation Package to create simulations of quantitative response assays (QRAs) and use the Quantitative response assay document type of PLA 3.0 to store the simulated data.
- bioMérieux Endotoxin Detection Assay Package
  Use the bioMérieux Endotoxin Detection Assay Package add-on to perform endotoxin testing based on recombinant factor C (rFC), a synthetic alternative to naturally sourced reagents derived from horseshoe crabs, as offered by the bioMérieux company.
- Control Chart Package
  The Control Chart Package allows sophisticated statistical process control (for example, by plotting Shewhart I-Charts as recommended in the USP <1010>). It provides visualization options for intervals, subcharts and sidecharts, and allows you to define colors by a secondary characteristic. You can also define rules based on events and time frames.
- Dichotomous Assay Package
  Use the Dichotomous Assay Package to analyze biological assays based on quantal (binary) responses by fitting probit or logit models to estimate the potency of your samples.
- Dose-Response Analysis Package
  The Dose-Response Analysis Package provides various biostatistical methods for immunoassays, ELISA, and more. It supports you in investigating equivalence for calibration curves, provides enhanced data processing, and options for subgroup analysis.
- Generic Document Types Package
  Use the Generic Document Types Package add-on to document general information.
- Integration Report Package
  Use the Integration Report Package for creating reports in additional file formats that are not covered by the standard PLA 3.0 reporting functionality. These reports can be used for example for automated processing in third-party software.

- Microbial Assays for Antibiotics Package
  The Microbial Assays for Antibiotics Package for PLA 3.0 is your software for assessing the potency of antibiotics. This add-on supports various methods, that is, cylinder-plate, turbidimetric, and combination of microbial assays. It enables you to closely follow the guidelines laid out in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP <81>) and the Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP 4.02).

  Use the Split Assay Package to split a Quantitative response assay with several Test and Control samples into individual assays, each with the Standard and one Test or Control sample.

  Use the Toolkit for Biological Assay Package to modify the analytical settings of larger sets of Quantitative response assays or split Quantitative response assays with more than one test or control sample into individual assays.

    - Source section
      This section allows you to select the template that provides the analytical settings you want to use. Add Source folder elements if your source assays are located in specific folders.

      This section allows you to select whether output documents are immediately calculated and in which folder the output documents are created. You can also select whether the respective analytical setting is taken from the source assay or the template.
    - Procedure
      Create a template with the settings you need and use it to copy and adjust a set of assays.

        Adjust an existing Quantitative response assay document and save it as a template for your copy and adjust process.

Copy and adjust a set of assays

Use a Copy and adjust document to specify your source and target, and select whether to apply the settings from the source assay or the template.

Note: We recommend using separate folders for your source and target assays to help maintain a clear overview of your assays.

Procedure

To set up a Copy and adjust document:

In the Navigator, select the folder in which you want to create the document.
From the context menu, select New.
In the Create a new document dialog, on the Available document types tab, go to Toolkit for Biological Assay Package > Copy and adjust (Quantitative response assay) > New Copy and adjust (Quantitative response assay) and select Create.
Result: You have created a new Copy and adjust document.
Go to the Name element and enter a name for the new document.

In the Source section:

Reference the template you created before.
In case the source assays are not in the same folder as the Copy and adjust document, add a Source folder element from the Creatable elements pane and reference your source folder.
Select a processing order (by key, name, date, or unsorted). For example, select by key to process the assays in ascending order of their document key.

Note: Selecting a processing order can support you in organizing your assays.

In the Target section:

Create the folder in which you want to save your target assays.
In the Target folder element, select the folder you just created.
Set the value of the Calculate documents element to yes to calculate the assays immediately after the adjustment.
In the Elements node, go to the elements that should be applied from the template and set the value to from template. For example, set the Suitability tests element to from template if you would like to revise the test system.
Save the document.
To copy and adjust the assays, select Execute in the action bar.

Note: The process may take a few minutes, depending on the amount of assays that you want to copy and adjust.

Result

Open your target folder and find the copied and adjusted assays. All the Quantitative response assays from the source folder have been copied and adjusted according to your settings, and are saved in the target folder.
