Create a PLA 3.0 document

When you acquire data, you import response values from an external system into existing PLA 3.0 documents. Before starting the acquisition process, you need to create the document that should store the imported values. After a successful acquisition, the values will be available in the data editors of this document.

For details on how to work with data editors, see the Data editors topic.

About this task

In this example, we create a Quantitative response assay document. You can also use other document types such as Dose-response analysis documents to acquire data.

Procedure

To create a document:
  1. In the Navigator, right-click the folder in which you want to create the document.
  2. From the context menu, select New.
  3. In the Create a new document dialog, on the Available document types tab, select the 'New Quantitative Response Assay <No Template>' document type.
Note: If templates have been configured, we recommend you use these templates as they allow for a faster setup.
  4. To confirm your selection, select Create.
Result: The Content editor opens, displaying your new document.
  5. Enter a document name.
Tip: We recommend you enter a meaningful document name, as this makes it easier for you to search for the document later.
  6. To define how your samples are arranged on the plate, we recommend you to set up your plate layout before the import.
Note: When you use multiple plates you need to configure an additional position factor. For details on how to set up multiple plates, consult the Setting up a 96-well plate layout How-to guide.
  7. Save the document.
