Tecan Magellan™ (Automation) Data Acquisition Module
Use the Tecan Magellan™ (Automation) Data Acquisition Module to acquire data from Tecan Magellan™. In file operating mode, you can acquire data from Tecan Magellan™ (*.wsp) workspace files. In method operating mode, you can acquire data from Tecan Magellan™ (*.mth) method files which control the Tecan Magellan™ software.
Configuration
The Tecan Magellan™ (Automation) Data Acquisition Module comes equipped with a default configuration that covers the most common use cases. You can change this configuration if you require.
Set up configuration profiles
PLA 3.0 comes equipped with a default configuration profile that covers the standard use case. You can create custom configuration profiles if you require.
Create a custom configuration profile
Create a custom configuration profile if you want to change the default setup, for example, to use a different import strategy for the acquisition of a second dataset.
Data source tab
You can define the mode of the data acquisition module and which data can be acquired using the Data source tab of the configuration dialog.

    - Set up properties files
      By default, PLA 3.0 users can use all configuration profiles available for a Data Acquisition Module and can create, edit, and delete all configuration profiles. Using the properties file of a Data Acquisition Module, you can restrict these rights if you require.

    Acquire data to import response values from external systems into existing PLA 3.0 documents.

Data source tab

You can define the mode of the data acquisition module and which data can be acquired using the Data source tab of the configuration dialog.

Mode

The following settings are available for the acquisition modes:


Setting	Description
Import workspace file	Activates the file operating mode. Allows you to import a Magellan workspace file (*.wsp).
Execute method	Activates the method operating mode. Allows you to run Magellan method files (*.mth) using PLA 3.0 and to import the resulting data into, for example, PLA 3.0 Quantitative response assay documents. There are several options for the operating mode, see the following rows. Choose method at runtime: Allows you to select one of the available methods. Use method: Allows you to preselect the method to be used when acquiring data with this configuration file. Selecting a different method during runtime is not possible.
Number of executions/plates:	Defines the number of times a method should be executed, using the number of executions/plates setting. This allows you to run a method several times within one data acquisition session.

Data block

The following settings are available for the data blocks:


Setting	Description
Choose data block at runtime	Allows you to select an available data block when acquiring data from a workspace file or using a method.
Import data block:	Allows you to define the name of the data block that should be used for acquiring data.

Note: If the existing number of rows is not sufficient, new rows are added during the import.
