- Integrity
  Data integrity refers to the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data over its entire life cycle. PLA 3.0 stores all your data in electronic documents, which are in turn stored in a database. When handling documents, PLA 3.0 utilizes digital signatures to ensure that documents are not tampered with.
- Authenticity
  Authenticity of digital data verifies that data is genuine and comes from its purported source. In PLA 3.0, users can employ electronic signatures to protect complete documents, document structures, and document data. Administrators can configure the handling of electronic signatures such that it supports regulatory compliance.

  Data confidentiality ensures that data is protected from unauthorized access and disclosure, and that personal privacy and proprietary information is protected.

Installation

As a prerequisite for the Validation process, PLA 3.0 is installed in the target environment.

Installation of PLA 3.0 comprises the following steps:


No.	Step	Description
1	Execution of setup file	The PLA 3.0 setup file is downloaded and installed in the target environment. Previously installed versions of PLA 3.0 are removed.
2	Connection to database	A connection to a database is established. PLA 3.0 can be connected to a newly created database (local or shareable) or an existing SQLite or MS SQL Server database.
3	Activation of required add-ons	To make the functionality of an add-on available for use, it has to be activated in the database. Due to the modularity of PLA 3.0, most add-ons can be activated independently from each other.
