Use large plates

New Cylinder plate assay (JP 4.02) documents have 5 plates (Petri dishes) with 4 observations per plate. If you work with large plates, you can adjust both the number of plates and the sets per plate.

Before you begin

Create a Cylinder plate assay (JP 4.02) document.

About this task

By default, Cylinder plate assay (JP 4.02) documents contain settings intended for assays with 5 plates (Petri dishes) and 4 observations per plate. If you work with large plates, you need to change the following settings to match the setup of your experiment:
Setting Default value Note

Sets per plate

1

The default value works for assays that have 1 set of 4 observations (cylinders) per plate (Petri dish).

Number of plates

5

The default value works for assays that have 5 plates (Petri dishes).

Position factors

  • 4 positions
  • 5 plates

The default value of 4 positions works for assays that have 1 set of 4 observations (cylinders) per plate (Petri dish).

The default value of 5 plates works for assays that have 5 plates (Petri dishes).

Tip: You have to change these settings only if you want to work with the By Position editor.

Procedure

To use large plates:
  1. In the Content editor, go to Setup > Assay design
  2. Select Sets per plate, and enter the number of sets that matches the setup of your experiment.
